About AERS
Established in 2002, Australian Ecological Research Services (AERS) provides Australia wide ecological consultancy services specialising in flora and fauna research and management from their Victoria office. Director and Principal Consultant, Dr. Matthew Wood has acquired substantial knowledge and experience in flora and fauna research and survey techniques and has particular expertise in macropod ecology having completed a Ph.D. researching the ecology and resource partitioning in sympatric populations of Red-necked Wallabies, Black Wallabies, and Eastern Grey Kangaroos. Experience has since been obtained through various flora and fauna surveys and research programs including long-term monitoring of bat activity on wind farms, changes in Koala abundance and habitat condition following population control, assessments of native vegetation quality (Habitat Hectare Assessments) and vegetation mapping using GIS software.
Other ecologists with specialist expertise have joined AERS to complement and extend the provision of ecological research and management services to a range of clients. Our team has assisted a number of large companies to meet their environmental obligations required by environmental management plans and planning permit conditions for a range of projects such as wind farm developments and pipeline installations. We are also privileged to assist individuals with smaller projects such as flora and fauna assessments for proposed housing developments, capture of wildlife for research purposes or management of pest animals on rural properties.
Australian Ecological Research Services Pty Ltd is covered Australia wide for Work Cover, Public Liability, and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
